However, after years of use it cracked, and the couple were unable to source replacement parts. They therefore decided to demolish the fireplace and install a high-output wood-burning stove in the same location. What the couple appreciate most about it is the high output, the firebox that accommodates 50 cm logs, and the large ash pan that is easy to empty. Vladimír from the Plzeň region shared his experience of lighting the stove. Vladimír, how large is your home? My wife and I live in a two-storey house with a 5+1 layout, with a usable floor area of approximately 140 m². The upper floor is purely a relaxation area, while the ground floor is the social, day-to-day living area. This is where the open-plan living room with kitchen and dining area has been designed — and where our wood-burning stove is located.
